Enabling the Transition to Higher IOPS Performance
By utilizing cutting-edge, enterprise-class 2.5” Small Form Factor (SFF) drives,
the OneStor SP1224s provides twice the IOPS per unit of rack storage when
compared to the same number of 3.5” SAS drives. As the industry makes this
important transition to SFF technology, Xyratex is leading the way to higher
IOPS density and more efficient use of data center floor tile space.
Cutting Energy Consumption in Half
In addition to the “green” advancements common to the Xyratex OneStor family
including: individual drive power control, advanced adaptive cooling and 85+
percent efficient power conversion – the SFF drives in the SP1224s utilize about
half the wattage of comparable 3.5” drives. This reduces energy consumption of
both the storage system – and the associated HVAC used to cool the data center.
Delivering a Versatile and Scalable Architecture
The OneStor SP1224s leverages the reuse of common FRUs, a common management API
and Storage Bridge Bay (SBB) 2.0 compatibility. This enables OEMs and solutions
integrators to accelerate market introduction of new technologies across a
scalable family of disk and enclosure form-factors, while reducing associated
costs.
