Testing Drives Colder

Xyratex has announced the development of the T-Series of test cells, capable of revolutionising the temperature range that drives are tested at. The T-Series solution enhances the temperature capabilities for cooling disk drives in asynchronous single slot environments, allowing the current XCalibre temperature range to be extended to include well below ambient casting temperatures. This innovative new testing technology represents an industry first for Xyratex.

The T-Series of test cells for back end testing of HDDs offers a host of advantages over the traditional cooling methods. The cells offer a sub-zero temperature capability for the cooling of hard drives in an asynchronous slot environment.

The T-Series integrates low temperature testing with XCalibre, Xyratex's existing automated disk drive test solution. Customers will benefit from key performance enhancements such as increased throughput and reliability and reduced cycle times.
